Rao Bika Everything About History of Bikaner

Everything about Bikaner or Rao Bika was the founder of Bikaner city. He established Bikaner in 1488.

Rao Bika was the first son of The Maharaja  Rao Jodha who was the founder of Jodhpur(Marwar Riyasat). His mother name was Sankhla queen “Naurang De”. He is not satisfied with his father and he wants to create own kingdom because he was the first son of Maharaja.

Foundation Of Bikaner By Rao Bika

Rao Bika founder of Bikaner came here in 1463. Because Maharaja was not interested in to give all power to Bika. So he decided to build his own kingdom and he selects the Jangladesh for his purpose. So he traveling towards Jangal Pradesh. He meets in Deshnok to Karni Mata in 1463. Karni Mata, who had become the Kuldevi of Rao Bika. But Karani Mata was Isht Devi of Rathore Vansh of Bikaner and Nagnechi Mata was Kuldevi of Rathore. She gave him her blessing. In 1488 on the Day of Akshaya Tritiya he established The state which was known as Bikaner because it is established by Rao Bika and Jaat Leader Nara.

Bikaner celebrates its foundation day on Akshaya Tritiya. The celebration runs for two days known as Choti Akha Teej and is Badi Akha Teej. After that, he builds a fort in 1442 known as Rati Ghati Fort. Rati Ghati is the palace where the way of Ajmer, Nagaur, and Multan was crossed known as Rati Ghati. Rao Bika made his first state capital of Bikaner was Kodamdesher. He established a temple of “Kodamdesher Bheruji”. Rao Bika brought the rivalry between the Rathore & Bhatis to an end by convinced Rao Sekha to give the hand of his daughter to marriage Bika. This improved Bika's power in his state become history for further. He builds a temple of Karani Mata first time but the present temple was built by Surat Singh.  In 1504 Rao Bika died. Rao Bika was known as “Jangaldhar Badshah”.
